According to the U.S. Naval Institute, “the shipbuilding and repair industry faces increasing challenges from an aging workforce, lack of stability in the contract workload and a problem convincing young Americans that defense manufacturing and shipyard work is essential and well-paying, industry. The search for new  manufacturing workers and shipbuilders must overcome the constant pressure for high school graduates to go to college, as well as the lack of experience in today’s youth in the kinds of skills the industry needs.” 

That’s where ATDM comes in. The Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Program is designed to build your workforce in multiple ways — you can upskill existing employees, send new hires for training, send conditional pre-hires for training, and hire directly from our program.  We can do this in months, not years — reducing the time to talent and, in most cases, making scholarships available to cover the costs of training and housing. All ATDM program areas are 16 weeks, with 600+ hours of instruction. Each individual program area is designed to equip individuals with the foundational skills needed to make an immediate impact in the SIB workforce.
